Hexidecimal Conversions

  Hexidecimal numbers are base-16 instead of base-10. Where we run out of numerals to represent digits, we start using letters (A, B, C, D, ...etc.) until we get up to 15, represented by the letter F. See the chart below:

An RGB color code consists of 3 2-digit hexidecimal numbers which are combined to show the saturation level of red, green, and blue (RRGGBB).

There are 256 combinations possible for each color (00 through FF). If your graphics software uses percentage-saturation, then you may want to use this quick-reference chart to estimate the hexidecimal equialent. The numbers to the left are hexidecimals (H), and the numbers to the right are decimal, expressed as a percentage (P) of 256.
