A 160-acre public garden located twenty minutes from downtown Los Angeles, nestled in the foothills of the majestic San Gabriel Mountains.
Docent Led Tours
Family Activities For Members
Docent lead educational tours are offered September through June
and are available to students grades 3-12 (Call 818/952-4401 for scheduling
and information) and for college classes (Call 818/952-7787). Docent tours
provide a wealth of educational information on plants, animals and local
history. On request, tours can be tailored to fit your curriculum needs.
Schools, environmental clubs, scouts, and home study programs are all eligible
for tours. Space is limited; restrictions apply. Free to qualified participants.
A wide variety of educational family activities for all ages are presented
by the educational department throughout the year.

Visitor Information
The woodland and floral beauty of Descanso Gardens is a popular setting
for many events. Whether the occasion is a romantic anniversary dinner for
two or a large and lavish wedding, various indoor facilities and outdoor
sites within the 160-acre garden can be rented for weddings, private or
corporate functions, or filming for movies, television, videos and commercials.

Descanso Gardens Gift Shop and Patio is a cozy, cedar-beam complex nestled
among the California live oak and camellias. The Gift Shop carries items
of interest for all garden visitors; home gardening enthusiasts, landscape
and interior designers, horticulturists, and plant lovers everywhere.
