Food for Body and Soul (FFB&S) provides meals, music and an ecumenical worship service for the homeless and hungry of Glendale beginning at 1:30 p.m. every Sunday. On a typical Sunday afternoon, after a lunch of barbecued cheeseburgers, salad, beverage and some type of dessert, the worship begins with the singing Praise Songs and Scripture readings. The singing is followed by a period of general prayer, led by one of the lay volunteers. One of the clergy then delivers a short sermon; and another song or two is sung. The participants are then all thanked for coming and offered the opportunity for individual prayer with the spiritual leaders in attendance.

The participants in the program help with the set-up and cleanup, and cleanup is usually completed by 3:30 p.m., or 4:00 p.m. at the latest.

Call 1-800-498-5453 for message as to this month's hosting church and location. FFB&S also prepares meals for the Lord's Kitchen at the Salvation Army 2 days a month (the 1st Thursday and the 2nd Tuesday).
